Warm firelight illuminating the Urban Fireside dining room with exposed brick and blackened steel

The Firehouse Forge

Step into a space where fire, steel, and brick converge. Urban Fireside is a converted industrial building that retains its raw, firehouse character while offering a warm, contemporary dining experience. The original brick and steel structure is preserved and highlighted, open kitchen flames and dramatic lighting create a cinematic evening atmosphere, and the space feels both rugged and inviting for a night out in Toronto.

Through the Lens

This gallery offers a glimpse into the spaces, dishes, and moments that define Urban Fireside. From the glow of the open kitchen to the focused intensity of the card room, each image captures a facet of our physical destination.

Photographs are taken in the evening to emphasize the firelight and industrial materials. The gallery is organized into three themes: the dining room, the kitchen and food, and the card room.

Warmth in Concrete

Overhead fixtures create focused pools of light on every table.

The dining room balances raw industrial materials with warm, intimate lighting. Exposed brick walls and blackened steel beams frame tables set with simple, elegant place settings, while the glow from the open kitchen adds a sense of theatre. Tables are arranged to allow views of the open kitchen, overhead lighting is dramatic but focused, and the colour palette of burnt orange and warm ivory appears in the upholstery and decor.

Fire and Flavour

The open kitchen is the heart of Urban Fireside, where flames leap and chefs work with precision. Our contemporary Canadian menu features locally sourced ingredients transformed by fire, smoke, and careful technique. Dishes are plated with an emphasis on natural colours and textures, and the kitchen's open design allows guests to watch the cooking process. Signature dishes include fire-grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and house-made desserts.

A Room for the Game

The card room at Urban Fireside is a dedicated space for offline poker, designed with a cool, focused atmosphere. Dark denim walls, leather chairs, and a custom-built table create an environment that is serious about the game but free from casino clichés. The room is separate from the main dining area, offering privacy and focus. Physical cards, chips, and table textures are emphasized; no screens or online interfaces. The lighting is lower and cooler, contrasting with the warm dining room.

Crafted from Fire and Steel

Every surface at Urban Fireside tells a story. The exposed brick, blackened steel, and raw concrete are not just backdrops but integral parts of the experience. Custom metalwork, leather accents, and warm wood add layers of texture and warmth. The bar features a blackened steel top with oxidized copper details, custom light fixtures cast dramatic shadows on the brick walls, and leather seating with warm ivory textiles softens the industrial edges.

A Beacon on Geary

At night, Urban Fireside glows from within, its large windows revealing the warm interior against the dark Toronto streetscape. The building's industrial facade, with its brick and steel, stands as a landmark on Geary Avenue. The exterior signage is minimal, letting the light from inside draw attention. The surrounding area is part of Toronto's vibrant west-end industrial district, and the building's history as a firehouse is subtly referenced in its design.
