Toronto · 91 Geary Avenue
Fire, steel, and a table waiting in Toronto.
Urban Fireside is a contemporary Canadian restaurant on Geary Avenue with an open kitchen built around live fire, and a dedicated card room for offline poker. It is a place to eat, drink, and play in the same physical space.
The Space
A firehouse forged in brick and steel.
Urban Fireside occupies a converted industrial building on Geary Avenue, where exposed brick, raw concrete, and blackened steel frame a dining room centred on an open fire kitchen. The space is designed to feel like a working firehouse—functional, dramatic, and warm. Every surface carries the weight of the building's past, while the open flames bring a living, changing energy to the room.
The menu is contemporary Canadian, built around fire-cooked meats, seasonal vegetables, and regional ingredients. Every dish is prepared in the open kitchen, where flames and smoke are part of the dining experience. Guests watch chefs move between grill, ember, and cast iron, turning simple Ontario produce into plates that taste of the season and the fire.
Dedicated Space
The card room: poker, in person.
Tucked behind the dining room, the card room at Urban Fireside is a dedicated space for offline poker. It is not an online platform or casino—it is a physical room with real tables, real cards, and real opponents. The room is designed for players who want the focus and atmosphere of a private game, away from the noise of the dining floor.

The Feeling
Where flame meets concrete.
The dining room is lit by the glow of the open kitchen and dramatic overhead fixtures that cast sharp shadows across brick and steel. The air carries the smell of wood smoke and searing meat, while the room hums with the low conversation of guests. It is a space that feels alive, but never chaotic—each table has its own pocket of warmth and light.
In the card room, the mood shifts to a cooler, more focused calm. Dark denim walls and soft overhead lamps create a space where players can concentrate on the game without distraction. The contrast between the two rooms is deliberate: fire for the table, steel for the cards.
Guest Notes
Word from the table.
The open kitchen is mesmerizing—watching the chefs work the fire is part of the meal. The short rib was the best I've had in Toronto.
The card room is exactly what I was looking for: a serious, quiet place to play poker with real people. No distractions, just the game.
